He might ‘wish’ for it to feel ‘relevant’; even stronger he may ‘yearnâ=80™ for it. ‘Desparate’ would mean he’s bending the ears of artistes’ management and I just can’t see that.=20 On the other hand if he has done I wouldn’t be surprised if heâ=80™s been rebuffed on the basis of ITN (with their comments on the line of “sorry Barry, you’ve lost it”). Now if this motivates him to up his game so as to to peddle new songs to the Julian > On 29 Nov 2018, at 02:01, mailbag@brothersgibb.com wrote: > > Yeah, but it's not 1978 anymore. So I guess Barry needs to do some messaging and throw out some feelers these days. Although I'm not too sure if he is inclined to beg Beyonce to let him write a song for her. Or anyone for that matter. Not at this stage Back to top

Wasn't that Robin? To prevent any misunderstandings. Robin felt very strong about not asking anyone to work with him. There were artists he’d liked to write for but his point of view was that they had to ask him and the initiative would never come from himself. Back to top

Anyway, I agree, I do not remember Robin soliciting to work with other artist, with the exception of Barry. But Barry was his brother and long time writing partner. We often talked about it and although there were a few artists he would have liked to write for (eg Robbie Williams and BeyoncĂ© - he really loved Destiny’s Child’s cover of Emotion), he repeatedly said he would never ask but wanted to be asked. Most Around 2015 he (imo regrettably) didn’t take up an invitation from Paul McC to get together to write as well as an offer to record an album with Jools Holland.
