Well, to be honest, I wanted it to do well, after all, it was a Barry "Effin" Gibb outing >(before the "Effin"). As a whole the album hasn't kept my interest, but There are some good tracks on it. "Stay Alone" and "The Hunter" are excellent. I always liked "Shine-Shine" even if it wasn't the best choice for a lead-off single from the album. >I don't remember a slew of promotion towards this release I do. Especially given the Bee Gees were pretty much disregarded by the media and the public by 1984. >All this to say, why would Barry choose MCA as a label to sign? Warner would invest in their artist, they would give them time If I recall Joe Brennan had once said that the MCA deal had gone back not long after the big success of the Guilty album with Streisand. In 1980-81, Barry may had been seen by MCA as a great catch. By 1984 his star had fallen quite a bit and by 1986 Barry Kitt (who hates the Mom Dad commercial) Sent from my iPad Sal compoccia@aol.com Back to top

It was Andy that told us at a private gathering after his show in San Francisco that MCA did not promote Barry’s album enough. However in Billboard magazine there is a full-page ad for the single “fine line=E2 which did not do very well. I didn't know the MCA deal went back as far as post Streisand, or directly after. Were the brothers satisfied with Warner's treatment? They only stayed for what, 3 albums? Warner went through a big shakeup towards the end of the brothers stay, 92/93.
