The king of acronyms asks what is HFW! "Hudson's Fallen Wind". That is a
real "love it or hate it" piece of music.
Maurice is on "Saved by the Bell" and "Mother and Jack" but was then
ordered by Stigwood's lawyers not to work on any more Robin solo
recordings. His bass guitar on M&J takes it from good to great. If he's
playing piano on SBTB as Robin said he was, well that's barely there after
the first few seconds.

Julian's question re: HFW gave me a chuckle.
What exactly is HFW? Is it a song? I've yet to categorize it. It's not Rock, R&B, or Folk. Is it Pop? I don't think it follows any type of structure. This has always been the main track in the entire Gibb catalog that has fascinated me.

M&J is classic. Love Mo's bass on the 2nd verse after Robin's multi track vocals "I've got a letter in this town", Mo takes off.
I changed the lyric, "said he would thinka over his drinka" to "said he would think while indulging his drink" or "sipping his drink". Guess this is why I still go to work everyday. Barry will not be calling me to write lyrics, BUT it still beats "won't y

I always thought "Black Diamond" made the better case for a single than "Lamplight." Just think it sounds more radio friendly and it's not as complicated. I'm not too crazy on either "First Of May" or "Lamplight" as an A side. I think they should ha

Lamplight runs too long for a single (was the B-side single edited?) I wouldn't say it is overproduced, though. I think that most of the earlier Bee Gees songs, even the longer one with elaborate arrangements like Lamplight, usually found the right balanc

Very often the case. Although regarding the instance with Robin in 1968, it may have been a code (more like excuse) for poor concert sales in the U.S.
