John's playing really improved in the twenty years since his last previous recording. It was thoughtful of Maurice to let John use that guitar again. Evidently John walked off with it, since for the video Maurice had to mime the part with one of his own. As I recall John gave Maurice the guitar at the conclusion of the "Have You Heard the Word" session, but because both of them were stone drunk at the time, the next day John could not remember what happened to it. Maurice gave Steve Kipner his bass guitar on the same occasion, and the engineer stopped Steve Groves from giving John the studio's piano. I don't know where the drum kit went. I swear I don't.
