Mo has never been a lead singer. I too do not agree with the notion that Barry was the frontman, sans the Fever period. Robin has had many leads. Many songs that features Barry on lead still includes Robin. As far as Barry having the better voice, that's subjective. Barry has stated that Rob had a better voice than he, again, subjective. Let's not forget, Robin was also a writer! Yes, the twins did exist! Kitt- Sent from Odessa > On Jul 3, 2018, at 7:44 PM, Chris Mathis wrote: > > Did Robin and Maurice just give up to Barry? Perhaps it was competitive creativeness, but even in interviews they appeared to butt heads. Sans the fever period? Perhaps 'front man' is the wrong choice or words. I am not saying that Robin or Maurice was the supporting cast behind Barry, but in my (non-weighted) opinion, Barry was the leader. Even in the song writing category. Someone once posted song writing credits to the list, (numbers), and Barry had written, as compared to Robin and Maurice. I am not trying to diminish the importance of Robin or Maurice, just the opposite. I do not think the Bee Gees would have been anywhere near successful if it were not for Robin and Maurice. But I do think Barry was the leader of the band. Chris... -----Original Message----- From: words@brothersgibb.com On Behalf Of KittLarue Give up what? Mo has never been a lead singer. They are two different, if not always distinct functions. > Someone once posted song writing credits to the list, (numbers), and Barry > had written, as compared to Robin and Maurice. True. I've always considered Barry to be the most consistent song writer, but to me, they were different types of writers. > I am not trying to diminish > the importance of Robin or Maurice, just the opposite. Okay! I will say this, I wish Barry, the "leader/frontman" would apply his Steven Covey Leadership traits to better lead "his" vast catalog. I mean, 22 studio albums And 15 compilations! Who does that? They will always be known as the "Disco Kings". Kitt- Sent from Odessa > Sans the fever period? Perhaps 'front man' is the wrong choice or > words.
