As the list has been very quiet of late, I though I would cease being a lurker for a while and share a story. In 1977 (already having been a Bee Gees fan for 10 years) I worked in a pub that various local punk rock groups would hang out at and play there pretty awful music. As you can imagine being a Bee Gees fan I was considered a bit of a freak but I had control of the juke box and knew how to get free plays so they were force fed my favourite group. A couple of years ago one of the punk rockers from days gone by added me as a friend on Facebook. He posted an early Bee Gees song so of course I commented on it and he replied that he had been wrong all those years ago as he had not realised just how awesome the Bee Gees actually were - it was a very proud moment for me I must confess. Cat’s out of the bag now! Has Steve or Sammy had ANY commercial success? What about Robin John? What has he been doing since Robin Past? As Chris just observed, Barry is "back on vacation." If he needs advice on how to pass the time, maybe he could start a punk band! Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits, an old Manchester classmate of the Gibbs, started a punk band called The Tremblers back in the 80s. Songs such as Barry's "Voice in the Wilderness" are similar to things you might hear The Vandals perform. There are possib Or he could go back to the Grand Oil Opry, I suppose. Keyboard auto correct changed "Ol" to "Oil," which suits me fine. Not much for the Opry, myself...
