My memory is that they said only "Odessa", the song , was unfinished. As far as the entire album is concerned, it's a little hard to figure what exactly they were going for. It started out as an ambitious album tentatively titled "Masterpeace", which was supposedly to be a send up on the American political scene (they were Barry has also stated that it was not originally meant to be a double album and it was apparently sort of stretched into a twin LP. This seems to have been the case. Please look at Joe's Odessa entry in his Gibb Songs where he separates the tracks recorde While I think Odessa is a very good album with some brilliant songs, I do have this "what might have been" feeling about it. As we know, the group was really breaking up at the time and this obviously affected the album and probably not for the better. Ba Even under those trying circumstances, I think they could still have rounded the album out a little better. They could have easily included a few songs that were unused. Obviously, "Nobody's Someone" and "Pity" could have been added. To feature some more But, it is a good album as it is. Sal compoccia@aol.com Back to top
