Since when did the quality of a song ever determine a high profile pop hit? Whole careers were and are being made on the crappiness of a songs ability to attract the masses.
Think Milli Vanilli; Right Said Fred,'s 'I'm Too Sexy'; everything by Don Johnson, John Travolta and Tiny Tim; Sisqo's 'Thong Song'; Aqua's 'Barbie Girl'; Girardo's 'Rico Suave'; Eddie Murphy!?'s 'Party All The Time'; Billy Cyrus; Wang Chung; William Hun
Bette, raising her hand in Philadelphia because she has to admit to owning BOTH the Pepper Soundtrack AND Travolta's album.
