Has the March release date been confirmed?
It looks like Barry's website hasn't been updated for over a year. So no information there.
Does anyone know for certain Barry has recorded a finished album

I think the album was mastered before Barry went to Australia. I did see John's request to Karim to stop the endless questions. Lol. That's okay, Karim, ask away😀
The "visibility" comment caught my eye, also.

I heard a comic once say something about a funeral not being a good venue
for trying out new material.
But I think David Bowie would be delighted.
.
David Garcia, who still would suggest Barry stick to the classics, the
better to avoid "bad optics" in NYC

Definitely no offence intended. But you know that any Bowie concert will generate a lot of viewership, and a lot of ‘stars’ will participate.
Plus in the end, (and this may sound insensitive) business is business. Reminding customers that you are still around is a good thing, more so if you have an album coming out.
I never was into David Bowie, though I did like =E2Changes” a lot.

Oh, I was not suggesting that Barry sing any of his songs from his =E2upcoming’ album, when someone stated it was a tribute concert I assumed that any performers would be singing Bowie songs.

Oh, that's right they do.
Damn. Barry could do a bang-up job on "Space Oddity." But that's the song
that pretty much every performer would love.
What other songs might he do?
.
David Garcia, who is amazed at how few David Bowie songs are indexed and
journaled in his musical brain pan in NYC

I don't think it is much of leap to believe that artists and entertainers, particularly when they are looking to promote a new album, film, book, etc, see such tribute concerts or benefit concerts and other similar events, as a good opportunity for promot
Of course, they may truly want to honor the person or believe in a cause as motivation to appear/perform, but as Chris says, business is business. They are also celebrities and most of them can't miss the opportunity to be seen at such events, especially
I would not put Barry in that class. At all.

He could, but I think Robin could have done it even better. "Tell my wife I love her very much.."
Bowie is sounding a little more like Robin to me on "Space Oddity.

The juxtaposition of "tribute" and "visibility" seems a little strange, IMO. Hope this satisfies your interest.
