I'm assuming the UK press. Can anyone tell me if I'm wrong? ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 28 Mar 2008 23:08:46 +0900 From: "ROBERT KIM" Subject: Re: Rocking albums!!!!! This is the unique back cover of the US version, though, and it has the note with the RIAA seal, under the piano. There were some reissues on US Polydor in the late 1980s, at the end of the LP era, so that's probably what it is. I didn't know that Bee Gees 1st was re-issued for the North American market. I'll get it on my hand! Greetings from Seoul, Korea. The covers are humorous. Instead of getting art from Polydor UK or Polydor Germany, they photographed the Atco covers, and then used a black box or something else to cover up the Atco label! The colors are not right either, usually a little too dark, like the photography was underexposed. They almost look like counterfeits but they were real... I think. The disks sound good. However, that cover of "First" you showed looks pretty good. Joe Brennan ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 28 Mar 2008 13:18:57 -0400 From: "Ronnie Olsson" Subject: Is this the UK press? I know it has a 8xx xxx-1 number on it as well as the old RS-1-xxxx and the earlier Polydor number. I haven't fallen completely off the face of the earth but I'm a bit sidetracked with other stuff. :D /Ronnie Laugh at life like a sideshow Just what you need to make you feel better http://www.brothersgibb.com Bee Gees News and Information ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 29 Mar 2008 02:29:48 +0900 From: "ROBERT KIM" Subject: Re: Is this the UK press? Thanks, Joe. I also think that the US Polydor LP of Idea with the composite face artwork is an interesting item. In reference to if Barry will continue or not making new music, I simply ask myself the following questions: How would I feel if after having lost another brother I try by all possible means to recover, musically speaking, giving me an opportunity to make real an old project: 'the country album'? I try to look for the best environment to compose, and as much the environment as the hopes 'they burn.' (And what about the pain of my back,..., more and more intense -arthritis-). Maybe it is the hour to go into retirement and to worry more than being calm and in company of my family? Just thinking in high voice.
