Methinks Barry needs some inspiration too. "D=E9j=E0 Vu and gave us the taste. Now for the manin course". Remember = that tag line from 1975. I am sooooooooooooo looking forward to the Robin's = album. The sound is so refreshing and I suppose I think it is so unlike Robin = to light and upbeat until I realise that despite Robin's 67-72 sound being = so current to me (because I hear it all the time) that sound has really = long gone. Neil Diamond had just shown in the UK that a collection of songs with melodies by an oldie can get to No.1 with less than 150,000 copies = shifted so there no reason why Robin can't achieve this either.=20 Note to Barry. Forget using your sons to extend the copyright life; find a collaborator = who can inspire you.=20 Julian=20 ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 18 May 2008 22:27:53 -0300 From: "Zulema Nicotra" Subject: Allan Freeman Days../Robin Gibb Hello , Robin I'm very glad , thanks you for all this kind info. Magnet reviews were more negative than positive on this list. Robin's live CD was basically trashed here. Not everything every artist does is "great" It's human nature to have off days, lyrically, vocally, make bad decisions, put out a bad song here and there. Frankly, you're saying Barry is beyond being human. Seems like you're taking a lot of what's said way too personal. More objectivity would be less stressful. -----Original Message----- Date: Sun, 18 May 2008 12:54:40 +0200 (ora legale Europa occidentale) From: "Karim Kassai" Subject: Rif: Rif: Rif: Rif: Barry & Olivia Lyrics Maggie wrote :=0D "In fact, whenever anything negative is said about Barry, it=0D > seems=0D > that certain fans are much more vehement in rushing to his defence."=0D =0D Maggie=0D =0D =0D Andrew wrote :=0D "At last - somebody see it like it really is!!"=0D =0D Andrew=0D =0D These are opinions , your opinion , which i respect...but only opinions.. It really is a matter of the evidence and anyone who has been on this List for a while readily knows that there is not a general favoritism towards Robin and a bias against Barry. The notion is really baseless. The only thing you can possibly say is that perhaps some of us expect more from Barry, so when he comes up a little short we express our disappointment a little more quickly. I wonder if Barry would ever use such a directly personal lyric, or even Robin in an earlier time. They always opted for the abstract lyric and always referring to any personal experience in a very subtle way. This is something a little different, but very welcome.
