When will we have our archives? I think that Chris is working on that. Second: someone mentioned that Turn around, Look at Me was NOT a Gibb composition. How can that be, if even on the credits of my Spicks & Specks CD (The one that shows the Bros on some stairs, with someone else - I think it's Colin) I have Gibb? However, Funk & Wagnalls is a publisher of an encyclopedia so I'll give you credit for that. You can put a gold star on your report card. He was telling me this long involved story and I'm gazing into his eyes, trying to look fascinated, when all of a sudden I blurt "That's Heartbreaker they're playing!" In fact, I think I caught him mid-sentence. And, if that wasn't bad enough, I started to tell him all about it. The BeeGees are warping my social life. The oldies station I listen to, Kool 95.1 out of New Boston, TX , has a station owner that loves the Bee Gees. So you get quite a variety of their music there on a daily basis. Also they have what they call the 5 o'clock Traffic Jam where they play request. It is not uncommon to hear a Bee Gees song on your way home from work that way. They are available on the internet where the station can be heard. I have an album of Gibb songs named Turn Around, Look At Me (on Contour label) but the song you are referring to on Brilliant From Birth isn't a Gibb tune...the credits under the song are (Capehart) Albert.....and forgive my ignorance but I don't know who these people are. I have a cute story to share. Yesterday I received an email from one of the girls in another department of our office (obviously not a Gibb fan and you will see why). Her email was bubbling with excitement to tell me that Andy Gibb was a guest on the Howard Stern show and that she was listening to him at that very moment. She said his 19 year old girlfriend was on the show with him. She went on to say how he uses drugs and alcohol and then she said he just announced that he is bisexual! We had a fair amount of email exchange until I finally convinced her that Andy has been dead for 10 years and although I'm aware of Howard Stern doing some pretty outlandish things, bringing people back to life just isn't one of them. Come to find out, it was Andy Dick of the TV show TalkRadio. :-) -Sharon Lancaster, PA USA ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Jun 1999 08:06:53 -0500 From: Randy Majors Subject: RE: Humpy Who??? Can anyone enlighten me? Just > curious! Humpy Bong and The Fut weren't even one hit wonders - one single wonders more like! Humpy Bong were the band Colin Petersen formed after leaving The Bee Gees. They included singer/songwriter Jonathan Kelly who Colin later produced and managed. The Fut - were originally assumed to be The Bee Gees with The Beatles, hence this songs inclusion on a few Beatles bootlegs. It is in fact Maurice Gibb, Billy Lawrie (Lulu's brother), Steve Kipner and Steve Groves (both of Tin Tin). This single was made whilst all four were apparently extremely drunk.
