It sure perked up my evening.>> Indeed it could... I just returned from a wedding in Arkansas and Stayin' Alive was a TREMENDOUS hit! Whenever and wherever Gibb music is heard, it is cause for rejoicing! I'm anxiously awaiting New Year's Eve..... Gibb Love Always, Maureen ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 23 Jun 1999 00:20:20 +0200 From: Juan Perea y Monsuwe Subject: Spirits Having Flown Tour Melinda Maucher enquired about the availability of a video of this dynamite tour. Well, I saw a lot of the songs in the Virgin Music Video Biography 1963-1978, and the credits tell us it was lend from an RSO spectacular called "BeeGeesmania", like I think a lot of material from around that time lies in the vaults of the RSO headquarters. Of course it calls for an issue on video, yet the road will be narrow and long, I fear, although RSO had/has? a distribution deal with Polygram. The other intriguing bit about early cd's and video tapes (from the mid-eighties) is, that back then there seemed to be quite some gems in the stores. Like an expensive tape with all the video clips until 1983 I spotted in Amsterdam back then. But since I was a teenager, I didn't have that kind of cash. Anyway, maybe a few letters of appeal to the right address might open the vault. -- Juan ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 22 Jun 1999 18:36:11 -0400 From: "Narissa Rahaman" Subject: Recent Bee Gees Pictures on the Web.....must see.... So by now, you all are wondering where is the link for the Bee Gees pictures right? That's what I thought. Well, guess what...there aren't any. I needed to get your attention to tell you guys something. Okay, so I'm young, i'm a teenager and I'm weird. I know you don't listen to people like me on a daily basis. But if there is one minute in your entire life that you do...please let it be now. I know there are some fans that others don't really....well...like. We all have our grudges. It's like anyone having a grudge for the 'Disco Sucks' backlash. We hate it but we have to live with it. If there is a fan that you despise or you feel against, then don't share it in the public. It's your feelings personally about another fan, and those are personal feelings. Don't tell the entire Mailing List why someone is bothering you. If you know that something can't be done to change the ways....then don't bother it. You can't change the person's personality, but you can make the realization that some people are like that because they are underpressure. People involved with fanclubs, event organizations, websites are under pressure. They have deadlines to meet and meetings to go to and pages to update. FanClub Presidents and other Board Members aren't just there for you. They have lives of their own, they have families, they have things to do other than be at your service. Many fanclub president's are doing this for you in their spare time. A time in which they should be spending relaxing, listening to a Bee Gees CD or watching Keppel Road. However, some feel to go the distance to please people and that's why they're so busy. I don't know if any of this is making sense. Listen, from experience I know what it's like to be flamed. If I had a proble, I would go to Chris. If you have a problem...go to Chris. He'll help. And he's right, this must stop. This Mailing List isn't to talk about rude fans or crap (sorry) like that. This ML was set up by Chris Mathis for the fans of the Brothers Gibb to express their feelings about different subjects on the Brothers GIbb. So, if you wanna flame fans, please, go set up a One-List ML...I believe it is a free service. Here's some advice: take it in private. Here's some better advice: appreciate those around you who have made fanclubs for you to join. Appreciate that you're a fan of teh Bee Gees. And don't flame anyone.....because if you do, you either want attention (thanks for who told me this...you know who you are), you either have had a really bad day, or you don't have respect. Thanks for hearing me rant on and on....just had to get this out. ~Narissa.....who gave the only 2 cents she probably had in her pocket.....wait...here's a nickel!! ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 22 Jun 1999 17:05:47 -0700 From: "D. It went on to mention that this will be the only Canadian city in which they will perform. Has anyone else heard of this?? Hello Everyone, I have come out of lurkdome just to say thank you to the members of this List and my friends, for all the support and encouragement they have given me for our site. I have given the site a face lift and also added a Barry Photo Gallery to the Fan's Photo Gallery. Please come and have some fun, and see what we all look like, and for the Barry fans you can feast your eyes on the pics. If anyone is still interested in sending me their pics, please do, either by e-mail or snail mail. Depending on any requests, I will also add a Robin and Maurice Gallery, and if anyone is prepared to help me with pics, I would like to dedicate a Gallery to Andy as well, I only have 4 pics of him. Take a little time and browse through our Fan Gallery!!!!!! Today, I officially eat my words. I just got the CD, We Love The Bee Gees, which has a version of this song by Take That. Absolutely fantastic! Great vocals and great arrangement. I'll have to reserve judgment on the rest of the album, though, as I just got it in today's mail (from German Music Express) and haven't listened to the whole album yet. -- :-) Pat Wong --------------------------------------------------------- "Drugs? From: Veronika Feesche Subject: Attention Canadians - I need your help I will be traveling to Brockville for Riverfest July 4 (Sun) and am looking for addresses of Canadian record stores to visit to look for BGs and Burton Cummings lps (he's performing at Riverfest). Can anyone e-mail me some suggestions? I'll Hi Veronika, I live in Calgary, Alberta, so I can only recommend stores in Alberta...but the stores should be nation wide. But first I want to make sure that you are asking for lp's, not cd's. If it's lp's you are looking for, I know of someone here in Calgary that would sell you some of his lp's (most used by NM) . He's uses eBay quite often and I have dealt with him. If you would like his email address, I would be more than happy to pass it on to you. He's does have a terrific lp collection...and I know for a fact that he has Burton Cummings lps.... I've personally seen them (I am a big Burton Cummings fan from way back). If you are looking for cd's, HMV & A&B Sound are very good. A & B Sound is especially good on stocking most of the Bee Gees. They usually carry about 15 different titles at any one time. I haven't checked any of the other stores for B.C. Another place you can look for 2nd hand lp's is the yellow pages of the phone book for any of the cities you may be passing though. Phone them up and ask what they have in stock...and remember you will be paying in Canadian funds! Anne Simpson....can you offer any suggestions to Veronika? Have fun at Riverfest, Veronika and hope you enjoy Burton.....he's great... in my estimation! Terry ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 22 Jun 1999 20:29:57 -0700 From: "D.
