Barry knows very well that Andy's drug problems were obvious by the middle
of 1979, when he had to dub Andy-like vocals on the songs for the After
Dark album. Albhy told me about that, I believe it. Victoria has said she
broke up with Andy because of his continuing substance abuse. I don't blame
her.
I could even make a case for blaming Barry, not Victoria, for taking over
Andy's career instead of supporting Andy's own songwriting, which was in my
opinion quite promising before Barry jumped in. Barry has a history of not
supporting Robin or Maurice either when they do something without his
approval. I do think Barry meant well, and I lay this on their broken
childhood that made young Barry feel like he had to provide for the whole
family, something no teenager should be burdened with.
Why does Capitol want to please Barry anyway? His new releases are on
Columbia. If Capitol does something Barry doesn't like, what bad thing
happens? There is an album's worth of good Andy material from Australia of
which only two single sides were ever released and in Australia only. I
know, Barry doesn't like any of it because he wasn't there to approve it. I
don't care. Capitol should get it and release it. That would raise fan
interest much more than a reissue of what every Andy fan has already.

As far as my 'Mythology' review and my reference about a C-List actress, some guy wrote me to say he did not give me a YES vote due to my comment.Â=A0 Eh. It's just words.
Its been thirty years and the controversy still lives on. That is a testament to how much Andy Gibb is still appreciated.

Kitt responds:
I'm sure Barry does regret his tough love decision, but just as I do not blame Barry for Andy's drug use, I do not blame Victoria, or Ms. Principal. I do wish Baz would have pushed for Andy to collaborate with John Oates when Albhy suggested it. Andy need
Kim gave Andy the same ultimatum, is it safe to assume that you lost respect for her also?

To which Kitt responds:
Your long night spent with Andy and his Mum, as he nursed his vodka and OJ all night sounds wonderful, but this does not negate the fact that Andy had drug issues prior to and post his relationship with Ms. Principal. And no, you didn't say that it does,

Kitt's last words:
I think Andy is appreciated by his fans and Bee Gee fans, not so sure how this appreciation carries over to the general public.
Good conversation, Marty. Thank you!
