Spencer spoke about both of his parents being horrified when he said he was leaving school, as they both wanted him to attend college. It doesn't appear the brothers had much of a penchant to instill the importance of a formal education. Back to top

The absence of Robin's voice to redeem it, and the overwhelming "country" feel to the songs, are the two reasons I've never bought this album and never will. I agree. There's some great tracks and Barry is in great voice. As an piece of work Robin is not missed. Perhaps Capitol will reissue it rebadged. Maybe just simply 'Bee Gees - Summer 1969' Julian Back to top

Personally, I was thrilled that they included it - almost as much as when Robin broke into "And the Sun Will Shine" (I always gauge concerts by surprises, which the Bee Gees seldom before offered, but this time fans were asked for their input and it appears that had some impact on the set list). (Sorry for the delayed response: my younger dog has suddenly suffered seizures, had an MRI, and today a spinal tap which indicates a brain inflammation that may or may not kill him, so my priorities have been elsewhere.) Anne -----Original Message----- From: julian@theglassfamily.co.uk Sent: Saturday, April 22, 2017 1:01 AM To: Words List Member Subject: [Words] Minimalist Arrangements No. I am saying MOML doesn't get included in compilations because: A/ it is not well known outside the long-term fan base and B/ because the record companies don't regard it as accomplished enough. I love listening to it as much as anyone but there is a reason it was not a hit or regarded as a 'standard'. My assertion is that both versions were arranged too simply. Back to top
