One example that comes to mind is in 'Happy Ever After', when they sing "Is it only a dream to a teenage queen?" That's very similar to a line in '(I Love) Being in Love With You', which they wrote for Diana Ross a few years earlier. It goes, "Only the dream of a teenage queen". OK Brian, I know one says 'to' and the other says 'of':o) But I think the similarities are still noteworthy. Often, I think, they put an impressive lyric into a song that doesn't get to be very well known and they don't want to waste it - and why not? A good quote's always worth repeating:o) Maggie > Date: Fri, 10 Oct 2003 13:23:19 -0400 > From: SCompo1993@aol.com > Subject: Re: Seasons lyrics > > In a message dated 10/9/2003 6:01:46 PM Eastern Daylight Time, ListMember@brothersgibb.com writes: > > > Seasons may come and seasons may go. > > this line is also used in 'ICould Not Love You More". It's interesting to note how they re-cycle lyrics sometimes, especially in this case where the two songs were written a decade apart. > > Sal > > ------------------------------ > > Date: Fri, 10 Oct 2003 10:49:30 -0700 > From: "Full Spectrum Records" > Subject: Re: Seasons lyrics > > The line in "ICould Not Love You More" is "Seasons may come and seasons go". > So it's different (doesn't have the second "may"). > > Brian > ------------------------------ End words@brothersgibb.com Digest [10/11/2003 06:01] ----------------------------------------------------
