This caused us both to reflect on what other Gibb song titles would be great for AIM screen names. Any ideas? Now, of course, we are talking about screen names that you don't have to be a Bee Gees fan to appreciate. I had suggested that "Farmer Ferdinand Hudson" would be a great screen name, but some folks would OBVIOUSLY assume that person to be a die-hard Robin Gibb fan, or else an agricultural professional with the last name of Hudson. "Technicolour Dreams" on the other hand is simply a cool screen name. Anyway, that's the sort of thing we talk about in the car on the way to school. On the way back, we were talking about breakfast cereals, and how there was none specifically marketed toward punk-rock/ska pre-teens. Goths had "Count Chocula," of course. Then I went on about that dumb rabbit who never gets to eat "Trix," and perceivd a certain, well... prejudice... in the way the rabbit was treated, as if to say "we don't serve you RABBITS any cereal..." And I started raging on, about those stupid, cruel kids -- give the poor rabbit some damn BREAKFAST CEREAL already! Kids are supposed to share, and all he wants is a stinkin' little bowl of cereal... this led on to other rants, such as the poor plight of the "Lucky Charms" leprechaun. "They're always after me lucky charms!" is a clearly a desperate cry for help, of course, since these stupid kids keep MUGGING the poor guy, and stealing his lucky charms, and just because he's a cute little leprechaun, and the muggers are all juveniles, well, somehow we're supposed to be OKAY with that. And what about Captain Crunch, always smashing into buildings and such with his boat? Time for a drug test, I'd say! Pack him off to an old sailors home, before he winds up piloting an oil tanker off the coast of Alaska! "Ka-bamm! Oh, sorry about all that oil. But hey, it washes right off. How about a bowl of cereal?" So, anyway, my kids liked that rant, and since I hadn't posted recently, I thought I'd just stop by to show that not all of my humor is Gibb-related. Meanwhile, my daughter is still looking for screen names. Any suggestions? If the album would be full of "Record Islands in the Streams", I am entitled to shake my face in despair. And with all this talk about the Robin Gibb management, the new Robin Gibb website and him having dominated the TIWICI album with his fresh drive and Barry and Mo being (definitively?) preoccupied with other things, we shouldn't condemn the fans so quickly who are concerned the Bee Gees as a group might be keeping a low profile for the years to come, with a new studio album to be released every 4 years (1997, 2001, 2004?). And as stressed here before: then you are being labeled as the group that only makes comeback after comeback.. But of course I welcome Robins album very much. I'm just not so happy, being a fan of the Bee Gees as a group, if the reason behind his solo project is: "I have this positive drive, creative energy, and songs in my head I want to release, but my brothers aren't with me in this process anymore.." -- Juan -- Juan ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Oct 2002 18:43:25 +0200 (CEST) From: =?iso-8859-1?q?Ronnie=20Olsson?= Subject: Re: Sorta OT: When did you sign-on? --- Chris Mathis skrev: > > >I think it would have been right about the time I > >started school, in the beginning of 1999. > And that would have been the first grade right > Ronnie??? :) > > .....----===*Chris... As for as a screen name for your daughter, well that is a very personal choice to reflect her personality.
