(#2007-3418) - Topics this issue: 1) N/A, ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Mon, 30 Jul 2007 19:57:16 -0700 From: "Marty Hogan" Subject: Sal Said: Sal said: <<<10 years older and presumably wiser, determined , as all of them = were, not=20 to repeat the traumatic experience of the break-up, enjoying unparalled = success and $$$$$, was satisfied to still be very involved in the = songwriting and=20 didn't feel the need to be out in front singing as in the earlier = years, big=20 brother Barry was in the zone and Robin was smart and gracious enough = not to=20 ruin it by asserting himself too much. There's probably other reasons, = but I=20 doubt any of it was contractual.>>> Think about it. 1975 and the Bee Gees are desperate for recognition. = They can't make it as a group, much less as solos. SO Barry becomes the = dominant voice slowly but surely, from 1975 to 1979. Maurice is = presumably happy being noticed for his affluence as a funky R&B bass = player and Robin still has his solo songs, which are great, but not = singles. When they shot to super-stardom after "Children of the World" = (I like spelling it out - hate acronyms!) they do a "live" album = thinking that is their peak. Then "SNF" (okay, an easy acronym) and all = hell breaks loose. They are brothers about to break the Beatles = records!!! Even if Maurice became the lead singer in these years, Barry = and Robin would not have cared! They had made it MORE than even they = had anticipated! Just my acronymical "IMHO".
