In documentation from 1973 which finally closed the issue of the sacking of Colin Petersen - yes it really did take that long - they prevented him from earning his living as a drummer! Great to finally be in a "bunch of Bee Gees-maniacs. I've wanted that for some time now. It was a struggle beeing a Bee Gees-fan in those early 80's, i'll tell you for sure. It must be great living on a farm like you. I live in a nice little apartment 10 min. from Bergen with my wife, expecting two boys in aproximately 1 month. First-timers. Say no more. Anyway, my favourite album is Main Course, much because of it's versatility (and ofcourse the great songs, vocals and production). Living Eyes and 1st are big favourites too, probably because they were the first ones i got to know when I was a kid. The Fever/Pure R'nB period is ecxeptional (Children... -Spirits...). I don't know which stle I like best. I guess it depends on my mood. They always move me. They express romance better than any Pop-band ever. It's very nice of you to include me. Gotta go. Hope to hear from you and the others. There is always room for more. :-) Ronnie Olsson As a break of dawn came closer, aII my hopes seemed so forlorn. The misty signs of laughter and the light eluded all. And my despair was caught in motion, a face just barely true - Shadows in blue. Even more, it would be interesting to know how exactly Stigwood managed to deprive Colin Petertson of his livelihood as a drummer. Nasty stuff, if true. The reasons for Robin not repeating 1969?. Well, take your pick: 10 years older and presumably wiser, determined , as all of them were, not to repeat the traumatic experience of the break-up, enjoying unparalled success and $$$$$, was satisfied to still be very involved in the songwriting and didn't feel the need to be out in front singing as in the earlier years, big brother Barry was in the zone and Robin was smart and gracious enough not to ruin it by asserting himself too much. There's probably other reasons, but I doubt any of it was contractual. As for Maurice, well he was probably thankful everyone was overlooking his drinking, which of course was very bad at the time, and was not in a position to make any waves. He apparently saved that for Living Eyes, when he had sobered up. Right now I'm waiting for the 1979 TV-Special "Sprits Tour 79" to drop into my mailbox. 28 years ago I saw a bit of it, and Im thrilled to finally get it. I got hooked on the Bee Gees music a month or so later (a little bit bitter about that), and have searched to find this show ever since. I love these guys and I actually became, in others eyes, a Bee Gees-maniac. Being a kid it was fantastic to find discover something so great and exiting. SNF gave me a knock-out summer '79, and I still envy those who hears these songs for the first time. It's probably the best pop ever written. Well, that's me in a (very small) nutshell.
