It might have been a poor attempt to emphasize the bass frequencies, processed from a stereo mix. A good version would be worth listening to. For those who have not heard it, the "going nowhere" part repeats longer and includes horn instrumental sections that were played in concert but are not part of the usual record. There's pros and cons to it though Lee - the widespread availability will totally de-value the 5 track 12" promo. We've seen stuff like "Inception / Nostalgia" plummet in value when "Brilliant From Birth" was issued. 20 years ago you were looking at about $500 for the German edition, $600 for the Franch edition and $300 for the Japanese edition (this is a rare exception where the Japanese pressing is worth less than the others). Nowadays the Japanese one can still make reasonable money, but I've picked up a German copy for less than $25. I've only ever seen a French edition pop up once, so they're still like the proverbial rocking horse droppings, but nobody is really interested - anyway, now, as Lee sniped me at the very last second recently, at least there will be one less to contend with next time! =8^) I think you still managed to pick that up for less than $50 didn't you Lee?
