Hello all, I lost one of my favourite pictures I had of the Bee Gees recently and I can't find it. Just hoping someone could have it. It's one where they appear the three of them in a hug, smiling with Barry in the centre. With plants behind, and it's from 1979-1980 more or less. It's from the session of a very similar picture cover of one of the Japanese compilations called Bee Gees History. Hope someone can help me. Thanks. He becomes the primary writer, producer, and singer (or should I say even more than before). Robin, while still making some important contributions, undoubtedly evolves into a secondary role. In short, it became Barry's show not too far after the reunion. So, why is he still so disraught about it? Could it be that it wasn't completely Barry's show despite looking that way on the surface, from being the main songwriter to singing most of the leads and producing the sessions with Albhy and Karl? George Martin once said something along the lines of that Barry was the light of the group and that while Robin and Maurice looked to him in that capacity, Barry sometimes forgot they too had their share of musical ideas and wanted their music recorded as well. I think it's very possible that with Albhy and Karl in Barry's camp, that made it very difficult for Robin and Maurice to get any song they came up with heard and considered for singles and album tracks. Robin perhaps didn't have as hard a time as Maurice on getting musical ideas heard but perhaps it wasn't enough to suit him? Lastly, the evidence clearly demonstrates that Barry and Stigwood have their fair share of the blame for causing the break-up. It wasan't merely because Robin wanted more attention from Stigwood, as Barry stated in that BBC interview. Something that makes Barry's position all the more puzzling. We really need an objective third-party to shed some light on this whole Barry/Robin situation. I'm not sure how much can be laid on Stigwood's doorstep for the break-up. Some but not all. The guys once said they all had hanger-ons hanging around them in the 60s, people who were telling them that they and only they were the star and that the others contributed nothing to the success. And that after a while, each one began to believe their hanger-ons and believe they alone were solely responsible for the success they had achieved. After reuniting, they claimed to have learned not to trust what the hanger-ons would say about themselves and each other. But, going back to the above about Albhy and Karl being in Barry's camp, as far as on the songwriting and production, wouldn't they have been doing what Stigwood and the hanger-ons of the 60s had been doing, just in a different way but just as destructive to the group?
