(#2007-3365) - Topics this issue: 1) Maurice's Concert Comedy, ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 12 Jul 2007 07:41:04 -0700 (PDT) From: Daniel Chornomaz Subject: Maurice's Concert Comedy I was watching a copy of a performance from Japan during a tour the Bee Gees did there back in the day, and Maurice was up to his standard comedic act that he usually does around the acoustic medley part of the concert. He joked around even more than his usual amount in this particular concert. I wonder if others feel I like do about the merits of Maurice's behaviour. It really struck me that while some of his antics were funny, that overall, they detracted from the concert performance. In fact, I would argue that in a little way, they added to the Bee Gees not being taken as seriously as they should have been as musical genuises. While I have no problem with a concert being "fun", I can't recall other serious acts clowning around regulary during a performance. I will be curious to see where others stand on this subject.
