Hi Marty - BGTV is working fine for me today. They just had part of the Princes' trust concert & now the Love & Hope rehearsal are on. Sorry I can't help. Happy 4th of July to my American friends!! Dhawk from Toronto Marty writes "Also very serious, the sound on BGTV is gone. I have seen "Don't Forget To Remember" with David Foster and Stephen Gibb sitting stoicly and the interview of Robin and Barry (both with sound), and the 'Hope & Love Ball' rehearsal (no sound). Who is handling this site? Thanks - Happy 4th - yours, Marty from SF" ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 05 Jul 2006 01:33:01 +0000 From: timelessbeegees@comcast.net Subject: Re: ??? Something to ponder I >guess! I don't think the break-up altered their history with respect to what occurred in the latter half of the 70's. The split was short and they rebounded strongly (in the US at least) with "Lonely Days" and "Broken Heart". My guess is that even if they hadn't broke up they would have continued to have some hits into the early 70's and then fade out, which of course is what happend anyway. I don't think it would have changed all that much regarding what happend later. I think the more intriguing thing to ponder is what would have happend if "Kick" had been released and they had a couple of hits off it? Are they ever teamed with Arif Mardin? Do they ever make the full conversion to R&B/Dance music? Would a few hits during that 72-74 period have given them a feeling of security and confirmation so to keep on doing the ballads and more intrspective songs, which may have resulted in them fading again by 1976? And perhaps this time for good? Marty From SF I have always loved "Odessa", but quite frankly, I don't think it would have worked as a single.
