Is the studio version of this song available on CD? Please advise. Barry's songwriting talent is really awesome! How could we imagine that he wrote for many singers from Australia at such a tender age? He's a very respectable person. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 Sep 2006 00:40:26 +0900 From: "Robert S. Kim" Subject: Clare Torry's 45rpm I happened to download Clare Torry's 'Love for Living' using a P2P software. It's really nice. Was it actually produced by Robin Gibb in 1969? I noticed that it was put up for auction at eBay. What is the optimal price of this item? I know 'Love for Living' is available on CD, but its flip side isn't. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 25 Sep 2006 17:48:25 +0200 From: "Ronnie Olsson" Subject: Re: Johnny Young's Craise Finton Kirk Royal Academy of Arts ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robert S. That, as well as the Gibb-penned songs "Lady", "I Am The World" and "Every Christian Lionhearted Man Will Show You" appears on the "Step Back With Johnny Young And Kompany (The Festival File Volume Eight)" CD issued by Festival in Australia in 1992 Cat# Festival D19008 The CD also contains a song titled After Dark credited to Gibb but the LP "Sunrise" credits that to Johnny Young himself. /Ronnie Some people see things that are and ask, Why? Andrew noted earlier that the b-side has no Gibb connection. It is basically a demo recording with string and brass overdubs. Robin didn't produce the demo session but supposedly did so for the overdubs. Robin seems to have disowned it ever being produced by him. Personally, I don't blame him. I have listened to it twice so far. /Ronnie Some people see things that are and ask, Why? Some people dream of things that never were and ask, Why not? Correcting myself, the title of the LP is "Surprises..." /Ronnie Some people see things that are and ask, Why? Some people dream of things that never were and ask, Why not? Sing along to it and then circulate the results as an alternate version! The purpose of Gena's Theme is unknown. Vince wasn't cropped out - he wasn't in the group at that time - this is an March/April 1967 photo shoot in Regents Park in London. It's a distinctive single from them during that period and I give them credit for trying something different. I like Vince's guitar and good Barry vocal, but in the end I don't think it's that great, never have. Of course only my opinion. I would imagine, though, that it is one of those songs that transports the listener back to the 60's. It has that 60's feel to it, perhaps more than any of their singles. Andrew But, if Bee Gees 1st was recorded in March/April 1967 wouldn't have Vince been part of the group by then? Or was it just not official at the time of the photo? I also have Assault The Vaults, but want to have other missing tracks from it. I recently transferred Noeleen Batley's four Bee Gees compositions to CD, but was disappointed at Surfer Boy with a skip. Will the Festival release Assault The Vault Vol. 2 in some future?
