Well... Ruby Wax interviewing these old lady who didn't speak English - I used the time to make a cup of tea! LOL I thought "Words" was fine... "Mother Of Love" was excellent, I really enjoyed it... "How Deep Is Your Love" was great... Then a load of weird stuff went on... Then Robin came back and sang "Tragedy" and "Stayin' Alive"... I think Robin was having a fight with the mic during "Tragedy" LOL At one stage he had it up above his head when he should've been singing! And he got muddled up with the lyrics whilst singing along with Barry and the same with "Stayin' Alive"... I'm guessing the band they had didn't know these two songs... so they put on a CD! But I have to say that his new song was great... I thought the lyrics were really nice and I'd like to hear it again... maybe it'll appear on YouTube. I think if he'd sung "I Started A Joke" and another Robin lead instead of "Tragedy" and "Stayin' Alive" it would've been better... Anyway... hope you're all having a good weekend! But, wait, that was the '72 Olympics. "Only One Woman" came out in 1968, the year of the prior Olympics. Forget it, just a poor attempt at humor on a Sunday afternoon. Agreed, anything but uptempo/dance songs. I think it clashed with the whole idea of Just A Minute. I could say that Robin probably should have taken a minute to meditate over the decision to include these songs... ;-) The rest of his performance was great as Paul stated. He could have done Down To Earth perhaps, some of the lyrics could function well in this context. I LOVED Mother Love I should say. Great, very Robin's Reign-ish lyrics and performance. Add a drum machine track and I guess he could smuggle it onto a Robin's Reign remaster... ;-) /Ronnie Some people see things that are and ask, Why? Some people dream of things that never were and ask, Why not? Some people have to go to work and don't have time for all that. - George Carlin http://www.brothersgibb.com Bee Gees News and Information ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 17 Sep 2006 13:02:41 EDT From: Compoccias@aol.com Subject: Re: Just A Minute In a message dated 9/17/2006 12:30:27 PM Eastern Standard Time, hfdvolvo@yahoo.com writes: >But I have to say that his new song was great... But, why sing "Words"??. Why can't he sing 'I Started a Joke" or "Massachusetts" instead ? Strange he is still singing those Barry leads.
