The concert was amazing! The setlist seemed to be nailed down though, no surprises there despite a *very* supportive crowd. Robin looked and sounded great and the addition of the orchestra gave a new dimension to the songs, even those who originally wasn't arranged with orchestration when they were originally recorded. I have to say I look forward to getting the planned DVD as it will undoubtedly give, not only the non-attending but, the ones who saw it live a better chance to hear it better as the audience clapping and cheering sometimes drowned out the sound of the orchestra. The opening was amazing, the orchestra introducing the concert before Robin walked on stage. The crowd were on their feet pretty early on (either at Nights on Broadway or My Lover's Prayer, someone correct me here if my memory plays tricks with me) and didn't sit down for the rest of the concert. From the reports given earlier it seems his on-stage chatter is nailed down as well and his on-stage moves are as inevitable as one could imagine. It is great to see his hand back where it belongs and his thumbs must be soaking in ice by now. LOL Downsides? It could have been longer and I would have loved to hear some other songs to the setlist but if he does a tour in England I'd gladly go see it again, with or without more songs. I have to say that Robin's support for Alistair is uplifting. The kid is amazingly talented, with great songwriting and vocal talent. It was great to see him and Robin do My Lover's Prayer on stage together. Lucia, what can I say... Good, strong voice... that's about it. I would like to thank the German family whom I met at the Tempodrom in the afternoon and who brought me along to the Hilton. It was probably the only chance I'll have of ever meeting a Gibb in person and shaking his hand. :) Viele danke! Thanks also to Klaus at Trinity Concerts for the concert poster! /Ronnie *********************************************************** How far is too far? I think its great old Rob's got the = courage to get out there and do his stuff. Who knows once he gets his = confidence up he might try more of his own material If anything this will get Barry out again and stir up his creative = juices (if not his competitive juices)in my view. =20 Mark Crohan=20 =20 ------------------------------ End words@brothersgibb.com Digest [09/22/2004 03:01] ----------------------------------------------------
