How cool! A positive story from Iraq and I'll be looking forward to seeing that show. The BeeGees have another somewhat connection in Iraq.......and maybe he'll be featured on the program from ABC.....a DeeJay named Ahmed Beegees. (No joking , that's what he goes by on the air). Ran across this earlier this year: "BAGHDAD, IRAQ - JANUARY 29: Deejay Ahmed Beegees spins tunes in the IQ4 Radio Iraq 104.1 FM independent rock and roll radio station in Baghdad, Iraq. The station was opened and is run by American entrepreneur Jack Roe and broadcasts rock and international tunes to Baghdad and surrounding neighborhoods. The station also runs public service announcements for the Coalition Provisional Authority." They played him singing one of their songs, very well I might add. His English is excellent. Quite a moving little snippet when he talks about the torture he suffered. Quite interesting. I would have to say that I was glad I was there, but part of me felt really sad seeing Robin all alone up there singing Bee Gees by himself. It didn't look right, it didn't feel right, and as many of you on here as stated, it just didn't sound right......But let's give Robin some credit folks! He is out there, working hard, and carrying on..........while Barry is doing what? It was interesting to listen to those songs, and it was interesting to see reactions from the crowd. The song selection was obviously to cater to the wider audience at large.........those are the songs "people" (not the die-hard fans like us), want to hear........and it didn't look to me like the audience wasn't into it.......I think everyone there truely enjoyed it! But I do think it should have been Robin and Barry together. But I guess this is just what we have to look for in the future. Robin doing his thing, and Barry off doing.........? It was sad for me on Sunday because I guess after more than a year, it was the final realization for me that the Bee Gees are truely no more. I am not sure we will ever see Robin and Barry perform together and we will probably be better off if we don't ever expect that to happen........ At least I have all my memories of concerts past......
