Don't know if you saw the follow-up letter in the 3-4 July Daily News from Theodore Eckhart (" Rifle club deserves award from town, not regulations"). It was well done. Perhaps what we need is a lot LESS regulation in the town-- and at ALL levels of government. Ronald Reagan put it like this: "If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it." Ronaldus Magnus... a man for the ages! As an aside, and to illustrate this great man's sense of humor, I remember when President Reagan was holding a somewhat serious news conference at the White House. All the media types (who despised this man, by the way, in a way which Michael Moore's visceral hatred of President Bush pales by comparison) were waiting for the official commencement of the conference, when the President stepped up to test the mics and sound. He said with a smile, "My fellow Americans, I am pleased to tell you I just signed legislation which outlaws Russia forever. The bombing will begin in five minutes." Some were stunned, others gasped, most were rolling in the aisles! You just had to love it!!! Keep up the great work--- Mike Caldwell :-) --_0703-2130-10-PART-BREAK Content-Type: text/html
