You are right, and it still amazes me that these singles was not big hits but the did have two top twenty hits in the early 70's with My World and Run to Me. All the albums from the reunion up to Night Fever did very badly and also a cancelled tour of Britain in 73 because of bad ticket sales Brian --part1_37.3bf86451.2c530b0f_boundary-- ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 25 Jul 2003 18:53:35 -0400 From: Bill Busch Subject: RE: Why don't you share with the class, Randy?? But its a decision that I made to stop the negativity that had begun to surround me when sharing my experiences. You know some of the wonderful memories I have of meeting the brothers because you have been there and you understand. Unfortuantely there are those who, for whatever reason, felt they had the right to send nasty emails to degrade me for the very things they would do if they had the chance. Randy's message was sent privately, she is the one that brought it publicly to the list. I am not saying that his message was not quite, "harsh", but it was sent privately, so it is none of my business. It should have remained in private. They should have dealt with Randy directly instead of subjecting the list to this. .....----===*Chris... http://www.brothersgibb.com Bee Gees News and Information ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 25 Jul 2003 21:42:59 -0400 From: BarryCrazy@aol.com Subject: Honoring Mo (please read entire message) Dear Fans of the Brothers: This is in honor of Mo. Please read the entire message. Thank you. In January, we were hit with the sad news that we had lost Mo to a heart attack brought on by other complications. This was life changing news for all of us. We've lost Mo forever! In honor of Maurice and what he meant to me personally, and in honor of family members that I have lost to heart disease, I have taken on a personal challenge of training for and completing a 26.2-mile marathon this December as a part of the American Stro As a participant, I'm also committing to raising at least $3,600 (U.S. Dollars) for research to end this disease. On the date of the marathon, I will be wearing several bracelets provided by the ASA with the names of loved ones I have lost to this diseas In the next few months I will be running hundreds of miles for this event. Although I will be the one running the marathon in December, you can be a sideline partner with me honoring Mo's memory, and the memory of all the people we have lost to heart dis I'm asking for your support by way of a generous financial donation to the ASA to raise the money needed to meet my fund raising goal for research. I don't know about other countries, but in the United States your contribution is tax-deductible. The ASA http://ttesla_sfv.kintera.org/honolulu Once at the site, click on SPONSOR PARTICIPANT. I haven't written to you privately in a number of years and have no reason to do so now. All that you accomplish by sending this, is to make yourself look paranoid. So Randy doesn't like your posts--so what? Get over it and stop trying to make those who find your posts disagreeable look foolish. You don't have to be loved by everyone. Over the long haul of their career, Britain has been a more loyal audience than America. I agree. I was specifically referring to the early seventies, after the reunion of the group. It took almost a decade for them to win back the fans in the UK. That's the period I was referring to when I suggested they were forgotten in the UK. At least they had big hits with Lonely Days and 'Broken Heart in the US during that time. The book suggested that their home country had been turned off by the messy breakup in 69' and perhaps were in no hurry to welcome them back after they got back. With good reason, Robin, as well as Barry, acted like a couple of fools back then.
