It was a great read and = a wealth-source of information----much that I hadn't known before. The Bee Gees had so much yet ahead of them as a threesome, so I felt sad when hav= en gotten to the end now knowing that the 3 of them are no more. SOme of their songs are so general, that they seem pertinent when I'm in a depressed mood, and then days later, the same song is right on the mark when I'm happy! We are of age we are in time we are forver??? The Lemon sings my song, he's know it all along??? I have been lying under a pillow of dreams and feeling moments of swimming in in cream??? To which Gilligan replied: > I think it the list of songs in order. I'll offer some slight clarification: If you're referring to the sheets of paper taped to the floor (which I didn't think you were), then Mr. Show Business would be correct. However, if you're referring to the actual decorative aspects of the stage floor, then I believe someone answered that question here a couple of years ago. I don't recall the specifics, but I do believe the 3-legged symbol for the Isle of Man is on the stage along with some symbols (letters?) related to the Isle of Man. I agree with your analysis Joe, and I believe it has been a central component of their songwriting. Barry indirectly commented on this approach to songwriting in the late 70's when he said (paraphrasing) "When you write about yourself it's introverted and it's death". I think Barry was actually referring to the songs on the unreleased 1973 album, which from what I know, contains a lot of introspective lyrics. It would appear, though, that even if they are feeling something, or have experienced something, that is very personal, they will express those feelings and thoughts in their songs in a way everyone can relate to. "Wishing You Were Here" is a good example of that Contrast this approach with John Lennon in his later days when he seemed to exclusively write about himself, or he and Yoko. He also wrote those songs in such a personalized way where it could only be about him. I guess a Beatle could have done it and had success, but most other songwriters would have turned off their listeners with such egocentric songs. Some good songs, to be sure, but in retrospect can you think of any other artist being so self-absorbed? Officially I'll say its because he does not like most the music on the radio. The once in a while I sing at fundraisers I usually do a Bee Gees song or two, so it wore off on him. his never around father can't influence his musical taste (but, he used to like old Bee Gees - '73 and older) morgan was conceived to Best of Bee Gees VOL. 1 I think if I'm wrong it was Bee Gees Gold Vol 1, after he started singing NYMD 1941 and some of the older kids at school (whose parent - younger than me) liked the Bee Gees it was almost like a daily obsession to sing something of theirs. And that my friends is how it began. Genine Date: Mon, 7 Jul 2003 14:49:46 -0400 From: Debbie Howell Subject: Morgan--Bee Gee Prodigy! Genine -- I think you have a remarkable 6-year-old son!
