(#2003-4291) - Topics this issue: 1) More Lists, 2) Love Songs Final Tabulation, ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 10 Jul 2003 18:50:20 +0100 From: "Maggie Bleksley" Subject: More Lists Sorry, I did it in a tearing hurry, between my two jobs and I was just thinking this morning that I didn't remember putting anything in for J. We could have had 'Jumbo' too. I remembered X-Ray Eyes later and put that in another email to the list. But there are so many, it's difficult to restrict it to one for each letter. Seems rather a terse reply from Barry. Maybe he has his mind on greater things. But, is it really a love song? Barry has stated that it was the first song they wrote together after the breakup and it was really about what they were feeling at the time (as was "Lonely Days"). Even if this was the case (I'm not so certain. They could be embellishing once again so as to make their story a little more interesting) the song has never struck me as an actual love song. One can interpret the singer having a broken heart over a lost love, but to me the song is about disillusionment and the sadness that comes with it. Perhaps they were feeling that after the breakup?
