I will be nice and keep it down to three. ROBIN GIBB'S BEST HAIRDOS 1. 1989 One for All Tour (it looked perfect on the video I have seen of the Australian concert) 2. The do on the SHF album. Wow 3. And does anyone remember "Robin's Fantasy" from page 130 of the Leaf Bio. Look at the photo again and then try to tell me that he is not a handsome man. I became a Robin fan 4 years before I ever saw his face. There is a magic within him that the other two have never had...and never will. He could be the ugliest man on the planet, but that magic is unstoppable. I think he had the most difficult part of all to sing -- 2nd part harmony. Barry and Robin would most often trade lead and 1st harmony, but time after time Maurice sang the 2nd part harmony and da** if he didn't sing it well! And that is a very difficult harmony to sing. I think if Barry and Robin were to continue singing together (and I hope they will for I enjoy their voices just as much), a noticeable fullness to their harmonies will be missing. And that of course would be Maurice's own distinctive sound. I think he had a very pleasant voice and should have been given lead more often. Kind of like with Hall and Oates. I think Darryl Hall has a great very soulful voice, but I always want to hear more of John Oates. Just my two cents. And by the way, nobody needs to get their nose out of joint over the love song listing. It's meant to spark conversation about the songs -- which ones we like and why -- and drive us back to our CD players and phonographs to keep enjoying these wonderful songs. That's all. Just have some fun with it. And if you don't like it, delete the darned messages and move on. That's what that button is for. Happy 4th from this side of the pond, Cath --- SCompo1993@aol.com wrote: << Probably because Maurice didn't sing as well as Barry and Robin. He didn't have their range and his voice wasn't as distinctive. To be fair, he was good singer and if he had been a member of most other bands he would have sung a lot more lead. It was probably just a bit too tough to get his share of lead vocals when competing against two very gifted singers who both wanted the spotlight. But you know, I never got the impression that Mo cared all that much about it. To me, he always seemed to be one of those artists who was comfortable in the background and making his contributions behind the scenes, even if he didn't get noticed. A very nice quality. And in case I forget, Happy Birthday for Monday. Please let those of us who want to, have some fun in a year which has been pretty horrid so far. Or are you on this list just to be a stirrer? :-) I, too, would like to know what YOUR favourites are. BTW, as most of you know, Maurice was, is and always will be my favourite - yes, he is very handsome, but also VERY talented and very brave and just a nice guy - to have gone thru what he did in his life, and still be the wonderful, happy, great guy he was - make what you want of that, Sal. I know he didn't sing lead often, but what he did sing, to me, was great - OK, maybe not as great as his two brothers, but, again, to me, he was (is) great. Please allow me my choice of enjoying both him and his musical talent!! :-P Karen - sorry, guys, just had to get that off my chest. > > Date: Wed, 2 Jul 2003 16:29:30 EDT > From: SCompo1993@aol.com > Subject: Re: SV Favorite Love Songs > > Per wrote: > > 1.
