For me, my favorite songs are about the way they "move" me. Notice my objectivity as not all 5 songs are Maurice's, although he is my favorite brother :) I'll list my 5 favorites (at least at the time of this posting), how about listing yours??? I'd love to see what "moves" you.... l. For Whom The Bell Tolls 2. I Could Not Love You More 3. I Still Love You 4. Wildflower 5. To Love Somebody Joy (who could easily pick at least another 5....and another 5......) --part1_6b.14b1d6f8.2c350ea8_boundary-- ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 3 Jul 2003 06:48:06 +0200 From: "Per Bausager" Subject: SV: SV Favorite Love Songs Yes I thought this was about choosing the 5 best love songs, and not about choosing the 2 best Barry songs, the 2 best Robin song and the best Maurice song. For some reason Barry is singning the major part of the best (and most succesfull) songs they have written. If it had been a Top 20 list there probably still would have been 17 or 18 Barry leads on it. Just in Case, Rings Around the Moon and Love me could have made it. On a Top 10 I could easily have choosen 10 Barry songs. I am sorry to say I would have hard times to find any Maurice love song even on a Top 20. At least these are 5 notable songs and deserving of recognition as some of the better love songs. I've noticed that many fans tend to be overly partial to one brother in particular and that's not so unexpected. What I do find suprising is the utter lack of objectivity when rating the particular favorite. Putting 2 or 3 of Maurice's solo songs in a Bee Gees Top 10 list? Some of the female members referring to Robin as handsome? I think some of you are taking the "my favorite Bee Gee" thing a little too far. He's my favourite (only slightly, but still my favourite.) Anyway, the reason he's my favourite is because our temperaments are similar (I think they are, anyway) and he seems to me to be intelligent. I remember reading an article from the seventies which stated him as being the "brains of the Bee Gees" which went on about him liking history a lot and always reading about it, and said that whenever he went on tour, the first things he packed was a toothbrush and a pile of books. Sal! Sal! This is simply a bit of fun in which we are choosing our FAVOURITE (FAVORITE) Bee Gees love songs. To my mind, whether you spell it the English or the American way, it means the ones that we personally like the best. Only we know which songs our own favourites are, so how can you possibly contradict that, just because they are not the ones you would choose. Incidentally, it's hardly fair to criticize other people's choices if you don't bother to take part yourself, so please give us the benefit of telling the five correct favourite Bee Gee songs that we SHOULD all have chosen!
