But what are you favorite love songs, Sal? You didn't say. :o) Christine E. ----Original Message Follows---- From: SCompo1993@aol.com Per wrote: 1. How Deep is Your Love 2. The Only Love 3. At least these are 5 notable songs and deserving of recognition as some of the better love songs. I've noticed that many fans tend to be overly partial to one brother in particular and that's not so unexpected. What I do find suprising is the utter lack of objectivity when rating the particular favorite. Putting 2 or 3 of Maurice's solo songs in a Bee Gees Top 10 list? Some of the female members referring to Robin as handsome? I think some of you are taking the "my favorite Bee Gee" thing a little too far. This may seem like a dumb question but I honestly don't know the answer...is there or was there ever a fanclub just for Robin? I know of the Barry Gibb Record but don't remember there being a club for Robin or Maurice for that matter...anyone out there know otherwise?? And if it existed...is it still operating? Thanks! Yes there was a Robin Gibb Fan Club which operated in 1969/70. There was also a Robin Fanzine called the Rural HG Times running in the late 90's. I do recall a club called Mo Time in the 80's. I think the Barry Gibb Record was originally called Barry's Babes, but there was also a Barry Gibb Fan Club running in 1969/70 which issued the highly desirable EP containing "King Kathy"; "I Can Bring Love" and "Summer Ends". There was a Maurice EP issued by the Bee Gees Information club in 1975. SHANGHAI-LANG Dec 23 2002 Rollers take Far East by storm - again Mark Mcgivern FORGET Westlife and Robbie Williams, the Bay City Rollers are the biggest British band in the Far East this year. Incredibly, 30 years after the tartan terrors' heyday, one of their hits has risen to the top of the charts in Japan. And the pop legends remain firm favourites in China too. The Rollers' song Saturday Night - which failed to hit the top of the charts when it was released in Britain - was one of Japan's favourite songs this year. According to the Performing Rights Society, who monitor air play and royalties around the world, the song was the fifth most popular in a chart of works by overseas artists - higher than any other British performer. But the band members need not expect a bumper Christmas bonus because of their success - the song was written by Phil Coulter, who also wrote Shang A Lang. The only way the Rollers could cash in would be to reform for a tour - but bitter divisions remain after their acrimonious split. Last night, founder member Alan Longmuir, 54, said: "I am surprised and delighted by Saturday Night's success. "The Rollers still have a huge fan base. The websites have thousands of hits each week." And he added: "Japan was the wildest place for hysteria. We toured there many times and released nearly 30 records. If we ever got together again, it would be to tour Bass player Alan is now semi-retired after suffering a heart attack and stroke two years ago. Three other ex-Rollers, singer Les McKeown and guitarists Eric Faulkner and Stuart Wood, are still in the music business. Drummer Derek Longmuir, who was convicted of a child porn offence two years ago, is now a nurse in Edinburgh. The former Rollers are suing for £160million in unpaid royalties through the US courts. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? SBC Yahoo!
