Well, after a miserable bout of pneumonia, a fast and furious 36 hour marathon move back onto the farm, a nasty auto accident, and the purchase of two pigmy goats (to eat the five acres of lawn I can't mow with my back injury) I'm back on the list. When I left, it was such an idillic place to settle in and read the chat of the day - well, that was a while ago apparently - and now I'm facing 191 unread lists. >From what I've scanned here and there through a few lists I don't believe the doctor has prescribed nearly enough pain-killers for me to wade through them all (sob). Could someone be so kind as to PRIVATELY e-mail me with a BRIEF synopsis of the last month's high (and apparently low) lights from the list? A biggie for me is talk of the BeeGees cross-stitch. Just a couple of my own BeeGees notes to toss into the frakus: I watched "The 10th Kingdom" finally. (It's on DVD for only $14.99 in many stores in Michigan.) I loved the BeeGees stuff. It was hillarious! My van that my husband named 'Mo' has taken to suddenly turning on the CD player out of nowhere since the accident. I have a copy of "Hi Civ" I keep in it at all times (great traffic music). Although I must say it gets a little spooky when "When He's Gone" suddenly starts playing out of nowhere, we've decided that 'Mo' just feels like singing once in a while. Sounds like you have had a tough time, and I hope things are getting better. Can you tell me what "The 10th Kingdom" is about, and what Bee Gee content there is, please? I quite like the sound of your "Mo" van that bursts out singing when it feels like it. Spooky, but funny. :-) From Mary Pridham, Adelaide, South Oz -----Original Message----- From: ListMember@brothersgibb.com [mailto:ListMember@brothersgibb.com] On Behalf Of Richard Foote Sent: Friday, 18 July 2003 2:20 PM To: words List Member Subject: Back from beyond.... When I used to read things like this, years ago, I always felt envious, because fans in countries other than the UK and the Florida area of the States very rarely had the opportunity to meet with Barry, Robin or Maurice. Then I had my own very brief meeting with Robin (which I wrote about earlier today) and those two sentences from Robin mean the world to me, because I was on the receiving end of that great smile and was only a couple of feet away from him at the time. The first day we took a cruise around Biscayne Bay (I think) and stopped at Robin's house to pick up Maurice. Maurice joined us on the cruise throughout the afternoon. He was so jovial and fun and he really spent time with all of the fans on board. Then, during day two (at the Fountainbleu Hilton) Robin and Barry along with Maurice attended and they basically didn't really leave until they got to meet everyone. (Robin left a little early..he was tired) I had my picture taken with all 3 and let me tell you the next morning I was at the 1 hour photo and didn't leave until all the pictures were developed and in my hands. It was a vast improvment from my ...were they called 126 cameras????pictures....1979 Spirits pictures that all you could really make out was a small twig with the big red hair (Robin -- back then!) When you are like 12 or 13 and you say you are going to "meet the Bee Gees" someday and you do (like 15 years later)...it kinda was the first day of the rest of my life. I felt like I accomplished the impossible dream.....I felt if I set my mind to something, I could do anything. And they were such great guys to meet. I actually got to meet Davy Jones (of the Monkees) at a book signing and he was such a jerk ..I was so disappointed in him and upset at myself that I liked him so much when I was 4! But meeting BR&M was really one of the best experiences of my life! -Sonya Fairfield, CT "Words & Music", Fans Of The Brothers Gibb ( Bee Gees ) http://www.brothersgibb.com To change any of your list options, please go to website listed above. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Jul 2003 19:50:37 -1000 From: "Holly Hiraoka" Subject: Bee Gees Scrapbooks 1, 2, 3 This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0019_01C34C9C.B1B8E700 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi...
