Please don't anyone take this personally .... but may I be so bold and say we don't need to go over this again. It was covered quite deeply a few months back. Let those who want to think it was the 11th, think it was the 11th. And the same goes for those who think it was the 12th. I for one still occasionally have MMMs .... and often they are nowhere near either of those dates. The way I remember it, the issue of the date of Maurice's death became a battle over who claimed to know who and how closely and so on and so on .... then moved on to whether or not Robin was there at the hospital when Maurice died or if he was at his house in Florida, then it moved onto whether or not Barry and / or Lesley made it to the funeral ... Maybe it is the jealously talking, since I never had the honor of knowing the brothers that intimately to have commented much on those discussions when they happened, but are these matters really important? When all is said and done, like I "think" it was Joy and quite a few others who said a while back, Maurice is gone and nothing will bring him back. That is sad enough ... Janel ( who before anyone asks, tends to think Maurice died on the 12th ) > >Because he DID die on the 12th. Again, for the sake of the list, the other list members, and my own sanity, there have been times that some people have had to be removed. When this happens, safe guards have to be set up sometimes to keep them out. There have been only about 6 or 7 over the last 7 years, and a few of them have been welcome back. There are a couple of people that I have tried to work with that have never attempted or tried to "work with the system". They have tried over and over again changing IP addresses, changing email addresses, posting through other people etc, but have never even tried to work with the list guidelines or even tried contacting me. Being that this happens sometimes, filters have to be set up. I am not going to mention any names, nor am I saying to whom the above email relates to. I am not saying that the above is referencing any person or site that may have been filtered recently. The bottom line is this. Everyone is free to enjoy the list. If someone is extremely disruptive, abusive to other members, keeping in mind that there are some very young members on the list as well, then they have to be removed. Have I always been the perfect list manager? Sadly, no I have not. I have had to apologize publicly at times as well. And I have not been let off the hook for it either! If I make a poor decision, I hear about it! Trust me, (you know who you are). .....----===*Chris... http://www.brothersgibb.com Bee Gees News and Information ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Jul 2003 04:24:30 -0700 (PDT) From: "P.J. As I am an ICU nurse, I of course have this morbid desire to find answers. I went to the following web site, but couldn't find the report after several searches there. I ask only because I belong to another list (non BG) that insists on reading up on such things....and boy do ya hear it if you ask a mundane question. glad to see someone oversees the list. just 1week old in the group, Kelly:) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Mathis" To: "words List Member" Sent: Thursday, July 17, 2003 7:09 AM Subject: Re: Troublemakers > > >Chris, when did the particular entity that's being screened here become a > >problem? Don't forget that Barry's withdrawal from musical activities began a year before Maurice died. While he's got to be hard hit by the loss of his brother and working partner, that's not the only thing going on. Because he was so driven and lived in the studio for so much of his life, this is a very significant change. I cannot say I know the reason, but it bears watching. But I'd write off the rest of this year. If he wants to sit home and watch videos, why not. It would have to be the same, because they are partly the same recording-- the guitar, bass, drums, and orchestration. The parts they re-did are the vocals and the piano. I find it fascinating to get such a glimpse into how they work away at layers of a recording, even for an apparently simple song like this one, till they get it to where they're happy with it. Robin sings a little off time, probably deliberately. I can't say I've noticed the whole rhythm being off, but you're going to make me pay attention next time I hear it.
