Mistakenly, perhaps, I was under the impression that "working" has given Barry great joy over the years, and I was attempting to ascertain what would have to happen to bring that joy into his life again, be it in 2 months, 2 years or 2 decades. If Barry chooses to never work another day in his life, who am I (or any one of us) to judge that decision? He ultimately deserves peace and comfort and happiness in his life. Can we at least agree that no matter what his decision, he deserves to be happy? Your tirade was justified, but misplaced. Aim it at the fans who are doing the complaining. This list is not censored. All that is requested is that people stay on topic, and try to be nice to each other. Along that same line, sadly, I have had to remove a few people over the last 7 years that this list has been running. I have, with all of those that have been removed, tried to work with them, before removal. Those that could not live within the list guidelines, were removed. What does this mean in regards to your comment above? First it tells me that you really do not have any idea what REALLY goes on. Just removing an email address is not enough. Some people are bent on hurting everyone, causing trouble and harassing the list members by re subscribing with another email address. (like maybe YOU??? ) What I have had to do, and I have NO problems telling anyone about it, is to set up "filters" on the mail server to block certain email addresses, web addresses, websites, etc from those that have been removed. I do not feel bad about this at all. In fact, It it is my desire that I never hear of some of those people again in my lifetime. The list has been running for over 7 years, and no one wants a few un happy losers losers to constantly bring hurt to the list or use it to do nothing but promote themselves. >There are certain people he doesn't want here You got that right! >but > every time anyone accuses him of it he takes off the screen and has > someone > post it to 'prove' he doesnt. I assume that 99% of these rumors are completely baseless, as they were no doubt started in the usual way--by someone who saw X person meeting with Y person and erroneously jumped to the conclusion that they were discussing Z project. Nevertheless, there do seem to be new people working zealously on behalf of the brothers, and if even ONE of these alleged projects comes to fruition, fans will have good things to enjoy down the road. I think it’s important to remember that entertainment contracts can take months to negotiate and often fall apart completely, so IMO Barry should by all means spend time with his family, and Robin should take on whatever interests him for the next few months. Just because Barry doesn’t seem to be working (alone or with Robin), doesn’t mean that nothing is being pursued. The mind numbingly boring business side of the brothers’ line of work is generally invisible to fans. Also, I think it's possible that B & R have somewhat different goals at the moment, and agreeing on what to do, when to do it and how much of it to do is no small task, IMO. Nor is coming to terms with partners (and there are always partners) in whatever they ultimately decide to pursue. Tough economy out there--risk aversion running rampant. I fear fans might be in for a bit of a wait. In any case, I have confidence that B & R will do whatever is right for them, and they have my full respect and support. --- ListMember@brothersgibb.com wrote: > > Date: Wed, 16 Jul 2003 12:48:48 -0700 (PDT) > From: Lois Strappello > Subject: Re: Bee Gee Q & A > > --0-434942227-1058384928=:28484 > Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii > > Which is understandable considering the amount of > time he's spent recording, promoting, touring (!) > and all that takes a musician away from home and > family. > > Lois S. > > > Exactly, it's just how the circumstances have > fallen, if > Robin hadn't been in the process of promoting > Magnet, I doubt > we'd be seeing anything of him.
