The ABC is showing their series on Aussie rock again and of course included the Bee Gees last night. For once someone else sang Lollypop. They did stress the Bee Gees' songwriting ability and how Barry Gibb would turn up with his guitar at Festival, sit on the couch and write songs. Also noted they had to go overseas to get recognition and 'become millionaires'. Then they finished with that great live 1971 performance of Spicks and specks on their return tour. Maybe help the book, Mark? Carol, I believe several of these may already have been mentioned but there are several cover albums that are the type of music you're talking about. Here's some from my collection. Highly recommended too! Boston Pops Orchestra - Saturday Night Fiedler (an orchestra but dance music. Nice!) London Pop Orchestra - London Pop Orchestra Plays Bee Gees Moonlight Strings Orchestra - Plays Music Of The Bee Gees Munich Philharmonic Orchestra - Bee Gees Love Melodies Gary Tesca Orchestra - The Bee Gees Story | Is there a classical Bee Gees album available? I'd love to | hear a symphony take on some of their classics. | | Thanks, | Carol ~8^) Pat Wong (ICQ #61070813) http://www.napathon.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------------- "Music washes from the soul the dust of everyday life." Besides, he knows that if I try to take that bow, I'll whack my head on the keyboard! And, foreshadowed the Elton John album (of "Your Song" fame) with all those strong cello bits.... BUT, what does the song mean?
