The brothers get ownership of their recordings in 2006, and it appears that they are waiting for that to happen before doing reissues. But there has been no announcement. We don't know what they may do about bonus tracks. Joe Brennan ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To carry on what we've been discussing it seems that reissuing albums is the way to go. Hall & Oates (who I personally think are amazing... and live they are superb!) are re-releasing albums this year... a greatest hits package and DVD of music videos and then four albums -'Private Eyes', 'H2O', 'Big Bam Boom' and 'Voices' with 12" mixes and tracks that weren't on the original albums so that'll be cool!! (In fact it'd be cool if the Bee Gees did a song or two with Hall & Oates, I think the result would be great!) So I think the general consensus is that we will see Bee Gees albums re-released in some form, 2006 or whenever; it'd be good if we saw a release of some other things like DVDs. I'll use the example of Def Leppard who I also think are brilliant and once again, live they are amazing!!! For Christmas I got a couple of DVDs of theirs and they are JAMMED PACKED with stuff. Videos, concert footage, bits of interviews & TV appearances, new interviews and so on.... just such good value and a real treat if you like the band. If the Bee Gees did something like that.... and look at how much there is to draw upon... and also the amount of stuff that can fit onto a DVD. Just an idea... Here's another idea which harks back to when I mentioned the Gibbs working with Hall & Oates. It's pretty obvious that for Barry and Robin to write and record a new album without Maurice is going to be difficult; perhaps they could hook up with ten different artists - I don't mean muppets like Westlife/Blue/Atomic Kitten (even though they've just split :o) , I mention them because Robin said he may work with them ages ago - and write and record 10 tracks for a kind of 'Duets' album so-to-speak. It would be different for them and therefore less time to dwell upon the fact that Maurice isn't there. And I'm sure there aren't many people who wouldn't want to be part of such a Gibb album! You could have Hall & Oates/Elton John/Tim McGraw/Beyonce/James Taylor/Norah Jones/ and also perhaps new songs with Barbra Streisand/Diana Ross/Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton/Dionne Warwick (just suggestions, but you get the idea) ---- that equals ten songs, and who could argue that with the right promotion, it wouldn't be an absolute SMASH hit on both sides of the Atlantic. I mean in reality I doubt anything like that is gonna happen.... but what a dream huh!! What do you guys think!? You don't need to tell me that I'm living in cloud cuckoo land - I already know that!
