Personally, if a friend was acting weird or suspect I would talk to them directly about my concerns and hear them out before making the decision to disassociate myself. I read that when it first came out...but it sure stirs up the same emotions reading it again as it is a gut-wrenching interview in so many ways. It also, IMO, sheds light why he may have stayed in Europe so much...not wanting to see the hospital from the boat dock and how he is dealing with Maurice's passing, even to this date (in a recent Herald Sun interview he still says he would "like to think that he's just somewhere else out there", very similar to what he talks about at the end of this interview). On the promo cassette that I mentioned - but I wouldn't hold out much hope of finding one as I've only seen one since 1991. I don't pretend to know either of them personally, but, from what I do know about Barry, I think it's extremely unlikely that he would have allowed MJ anywhere near his children all these years if he believed the charges against him either currently or in the past, for one moment. Rightly or wrongly, I have my own theory on whether or not he is guilty, or plain foolish, but I don't think it's appropriate to discuss it at length on this list. All I'd like to say is that I think it says a good deal about Barry's integrity if he chooses to stand by his faith in MJ's innocence at the risk of damaging his reputation.
