(#2004-4986) - Topics this issue: 1) Collabaration, ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sat, 17 Jan 2004 16:28:50 -0000 From: "Julian Glass" Subject: Collabaration There is no Maurice or Bill Shepherd and would their be a reconciliation with Albhy? Anyway he and Karl have moved on and remember what they say about going back. I read between the lines that Blue was more that just a band member, but that's from his view and may be overstated. Anyway there is the Living Eyes fallout to overcome. However having an accomplished keyboard player and one who has written with them he might just be the right choice along with Alan and Steve. The closet non-blood related family they have worked with? Some of Maurice's abilities are not possessed by either Robin or Barry. In short, they'll need some help and I don't just mean in the area of demos. They will probably have to bring in a very good musician to assist them in a number of ways. As we all know, this would not be unprecedented. As Surahan points out, Barry worked with Albhy, as well as others like George Bitzer. Both Robin and Barry also collaborated with Blue as a producer and co-writer. > > As far as the writing and singing goes, well, Barry and Robin had writen quite a bit in the earlier years without Maurice. Later on when Maurice's drinking became very bad they were probably forced to write, and perhaps record, without him. So, this will not be a totally new challenge for them. But,I do think they will need some help and will miss Maurice's varied musical strengths. Notice that it was during the years when Maurice was out of it due to his drinking that they found other musicians to assist them like Albhy and Blue. > > As far as emotionally, well they are on uncharted waters there. We'll see how they hold up. And I can't see them going back to Middle Ear. There has to be too many memories there. A new and different environment would be better IMO. > > Sal > > ------------------------------ > > End words@brothersgibb.com Digest [01/15/2004 18:01] > ---------------------------------------------------- > "Words & Music", Fans Of The Brothers Gibb ( Bee Gees ) > http://www.brothersgibb.com > > To change any of your list options, > please go to website listed above. > > > > http://www.brothersgibb.com > Bee Gees News and Information > > > ------------------------------ End words@brothersgibb.com Digest [01/17/2004 12:01] ----------------------------------------------------
