(#2004-4975) - Topics this issue: 1) Beckham, Madrid & Fever Darts, 2) Thank you Edison, ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Tue, 13 Jan 2004 13:08:56 +0100 From: Juan Perea y Monsuwe Subject: Beckham, Madrid & Fever Darts >He got traded, he's with some Spanish football group now. > >Michelle Uhmmmm not just SOME Spanish football team, Michel, he plays in the squad of Real Madrid, where David Beckham plays together with Raul, Ronaldo, Zidane, Roberto Carlos, Figo, a collection of soccer stars. I have been a fan since I was a child. Not to offend Joan, our Catalan Man in any way, my father and brother are big Barcelona fans, I just dunno if they have so much to cheer about now. I might recommend though a new documentary film made about my legendary countryman and soccer player Johan Cruyff and FC Barcelona, a beautiful must see for everyone who loves soccer (Joan, you should see it). Bee Gees content: now we're on the subject of sports anyway: the Dutch darts player Vincent van der Voort who participated in the Lakeside World Darts Championships in Frimley Green, England last week, had Staying Alive as his personal anthem when he walked on the stage, and the flights on his darts depicted the Saturday Night Fever musical emblem. He got beaten in the first round though. Barry Gibb lookalike Andy Fordham won the tournament... :) -- Juan in the .nl ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 13 Jan 2004 12:17:13 GMT+00:00 From: robin-alexis@talk21.com Subject: Thank you Edison A couple of years ago, there was some discussion on the list about the song Edison, from Odessa. To summarise, the consensus of opinion was that this song doesn't rank amongst the Gibbs' greatest compositions. However, when I got back from work last night, I looked at CD collection and marvelled at how lucky I am to have this legacy of Maurice. So thanks Mr Edison, for giving us those Cylinders to please. Recorded music may have moved on a bit since then, but Kilburn Towers Out now from Top Hat Events Management: "Everybody Clap" - A musical tribute to Maurice Gibb, by his fans.
