A friend of mine has texted me saying that Rob's on Radio 4 on Saturday at 4pm. I've just checked the website and it's a re-run of the aforementioned interview! I'll be listening to the Top 40 in anticipation this Sunday, the longer we have to wait the better between 4pm and 7pm ;op Did anyone (all radio here..........LOL) catch the Ed Stewart show on Sunday on Radio 2?! The Bee Gees were artists of the week! :o) As a tribute to Maurice!!! :o) Ed actually read my e-mail about when I met Maurice, it was a really good show! Anyway hope everyone's ok! I was thinking more in regards to vocals than instruments. The vocals has been, is and will be the Gibb brothers pivotal point to me and with the los= s of Mo we lost a big part of what was the Bee Gees as a vocal group. Who plays what is of a lesser concern as far as I am concerned. Ronnie http://www.brothersgibb.com Bee Gees News and Information ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 23 Jan 2003 16:36:59 -0600 (CST) From: BeeGeezy@webtv.net (Keppel) Subject: another report [[BELL TOLLS FOR BEE GEES The unexpected death of Bee Gee Maurice Gibb has the family band talking about quitting. According to the Australian Broadcasting Corp., Maurice's twin brother, Robin, says the band will no longer record new music or perform concerts, contradicting statements a third brother, Barry Gibb, has made about the group continuing as a tribute to Maurice. Maurice died in Miami earlier this month. "The Bee Gees to us was the three brothers," Robin explained. "In Maurice's name we would respect that and not be the Bee Gees any more." Robin says that does not mean he and Barry will stop making music all together; they simply won't do it under the Bee Gee banner. "Anything (Barry and I) do, we will do together, but it'll be as brothers and not under the name of the Bee Gees," Robin said. "We don't want to be the Bee Gees again." The Miami hospital that treated Maurice says he died from a cardiac arrest during emergency abdominal surgery on Jan. 12.]] I think Maurice would be horrified if they did not continue as The Bee Gees!!! I think he would want them to always be The Bee Gees, for as long as both of them live! If they truly couldn't go on without him, could never perform or even record again, then it would make sense that the Bee Gees would be no more. But as long as Barry and Robin are recording, and maybe even performing, they should still be The Bee Gees. If not, everyone will refer to them as The Bee Gees anyway, or the EX-Bee Gees or the singers formerly known as The Bee Gees. And by not being the Bee Gees, they are finally giving their critics what they've always wanted -- no more Bee Gees! If for that reson alone, they should remain The Bee Gees! Maurice wouldn't want them to change the name just because he's no longer with them! ~Nanci~ "Keppel" ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 23 Jan 2003 14:36:13 -0800 From: "" Subject: Re: New members?
