Believe it or not I've had this thought of the Bee Gees post-Fever material being featured in a successful film as well. Not that I had any real idea for a movie. It was more of an idea to have their later songs be featured in a popular film. I always thought that this would be great in that it would expose people, particulary in the US, who are not aware of the great music they've produced in the last 20 years, as well as help remove the SNF/Disco label. I hope the film would feature other songs than the 6 you mentioned. Songs from SIZE and the last album would be better since they are both better albums than Still Waters. That's just my opinion. Good luck! Sal ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 20 Jan 2003 15:38:55 +1030 From: "Mary Pridham" Subject: RE: New Zealand Nah! - no abuse. We Aussies know who the better speakers are, anyway. Yes, it features way more than those 6 songs, and like all films, uses only small portions of most. It even features "I Don't Wanna be the One" in one very surrealistic scene, as well as Heartbreaker, Wedding Day, Diana Ross with "When You Tell Me That You Love Me", Chain Reaction, Ordinary Lives, etc. Many more. Sounds like a lot of songs, but if you watch the credits of most movies, there is actually about 25 songs used per movie (usually just snippets for mood, as I've done) Brian ----- Original Message ----- From: To: "words List Member" Sent: Sunday, January 19, 2003 8:59 PM Subject: Fighting the Fever Stigma > If you have this concept for a film off the ground that's great news Brian. > Believe it or not I've had this thought of the Bee Gees post-Fever material > being featured in a successful film as well. The 53-year-old died three days after suffering cardiac arrest prior to undergoing emergency surgery for an intestinal blockage. Sounds Music Stores report a massive upsurge in interest in the group at its 45 outlets nationwide. Marketing Director, Shaun Joyce, says sales are up around 500 per cent on normal figures. He says he has been surprised by the response, with some of the bigger stores actually running out of stock. Shaun Joyce says there's been some frantic re-ordering from suppliers in Australia. The Bee Gees were born in Britain, but grew up in Australia before moving back to England to launch themselves on the British pop music scene. As well as writing, producing and performing their own hits, the Bee Gees were responsible for writing and producing dozens of hit songs for other artists.
