Sounds like he was still trying to draw attention to himself. There is such a thing as respect...... I was very sad to hear that Barry was too distraught to go to his brother's funeral. I was surprised that it was so soon after his death - only three days. Is that usual in the U.S.? Normally, it takes at least a week here in England, so at least those who have lost a loved one have a little more time to get used to it. However, I was heartened to read what Robin had to say on www.robingibb.com. about how they intended to get back to their music, as they know Maurice would want them too. I do admire their brave and positive attitude and love them more than ever for it. For me, their will always be three Bee Gees and I feel sure that Mo will be there, giving them all his encouragement to carry on. Thank goodness there was no discussion of retinal detachment surgery (which he didn't have, so don't start with THAT now, alright?). Details of ruptured intestinal walls make me dizzy, but gory discussions of retinal detachment make me faint. It seems most Staten Island school bus drivers would likely agree with you on that one, since that's what my kids hear on those occasions when they have to take "the cheese bus"... Ah yes, Z-100. Up until about three years ago, we never listened to the radio. Just Bee Gees CDs. Over and over. Then my daughter forced her N*SYNC and Backstreet Boys CDs on us. So we listened to those over and over. Then we started listening to Radio Disney. Then about two years ago, Radio Disney was no longer cool. It was "wretched, pathetic and immature." So we listened to Z-100. Over and over. Then we started listening to Nickelback and Linkin Park on 92.3 K-Rock, since Z-100 had become so "wretched, pathetic and immature." Over time, we also started listening to some obscure New Jersey station, called "The Rat." More obscure rock music. Now we listen to my daughter's punk CDs by AFI, Death By Stereo, and others who are "too cool to get played on mainstream radio." Over and over and over. There was, somewhere just before that, a couple of weeks of ska music by Mustard Plug, which was nice while it lasted. Somewhere in all that, I think we actually had top-40 mainstream music. Early April, or late March. I really need to write these things down...
