I actually think it has aired twice besides last night. A tribute song titled "Thank you for being you" and sung by numerous artist singing a line or two. Possibly new words to a tune already written or a new song entirely. And placed on a tribute CD of some of his fans speaking what Maurice meant to them. This disk profits would go to the Maurice Memorial Foundation for Alcohol Anonymous. I believe there would be great interest in this project and a record so to speak that will honor the impact that this man had on others lives. I don't know who would be in charge of this project or if anyone would even want it done. But I think everyone would volunteer their participation. Maybe Barry and Robin would write the song. That is what I woke up with this morning. What does everyone think? It has a few flubs in it. Larry confuses John Lennon with Travolta and also Saturday Night Fever with Live. I'm sure if it was televised, Joe would have recalled seeing it! In a way it minimizes a bit of the shock - giving the appearance that this interview took place yesteday when the reality is that it was in the can for about 9 or 10 months now. The Barry and Robin interview on the BBC kind of drives things home. This must be a rough time for them. They feel that something should have been done about Mo's stomach pains within the first couple of hours of him being admitted. They are questioning the drs decision to perform what amounted to major abdominal surgery so soon after the arrest. They are concerned that he went in to hospital with one problem and died of another. So far the hospital have declined to comment. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Maggie Bleksley" To: "words List Member" Sent: Monday, January 13, 2003 9:29 AM Subject: Hospital investigation > > > > > Date: Mon, 13 Jan 2003 01:56:49 -0500 (EST) > > From: darc1@webtv.net > > Subject: Grief > > > I just read in another ng, tak > > this with a grain of salt since I have no way of knowing if this is true > > or not but I read that Barry and Robin did an interview today/tonight > > for BBC and said they blame the hospital for Mo's death and that they > > took out 80% of his stomach and they are going to have a full > > investigation done. I thought people were named in your original post (you said: Isnt it starnge how for the last 24 hours All and sundry have been listing bee gees items on ebay as..Bee gees /Maurice Gibb.), as though they were doing something wrong. I'm not sure if those are names people go by (All and sundry). I apologize if they aren't. I was very tired, as we all are. I just didn't think it was that strange that someone might do that, much less worthy of any special notice here, as though they are doing something "strange" or wrong, which is what the message seemed to imply to me. Robin was clearly the sharpest at catching errors, and Barry was making as many mistakes as Larry, in that he was getting the time-line messed up, seeming to forget they had early 70's hits, etc., but Robin was quick to get it straightened out. It all added to the humor and banter of the show. It was much better than I had been led to believe based on reports the first time it aired, which I missed. Then again, we were all thinking of it from the album promo (TIWICI) angle that time. This time, we couldn't have cared less about that. That song If You Leave me Now by Chicago!! If you leave me now, you'll take away the biggest part of me. I was waiting to pick up my son from school and there were lots of people around, so I got very teary eyed and almost lost it but I managed to keep it together.
