I am another person who has had a little difficulty functioning since I first heard this terrible news yesterday. I know I'm in shock. It seems so unreal. All of you on this mailing list sharing your concerns and feelings and hopes and fears...well, I just feel better knowing that we're all in this together. And Maurice has so many people pulling for him. I have been praying so much for him to have a full recovery, with as little pain as possible. I'm an ICU nurse and while we don't know very many details, I know he can get through this. We, with our thoughts and prayers, are an important part of his recovery. And yes David, even the humor is important. It's what Mo would want.....for each of us to have the joy and happiness. Sorry I'm rambling on. Please everyone continue to pray for Mo. Thank you all for being here. I heard that Mo has had stomach problems for years (true ? untrue?) and that in the operation they removed a quarter (?) of his stomach and intestine. You can do that and be well after but has he been sick before ? It would explain his slimness. Loved your post David, and you can make all the jokes you want.
