Maurice was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Thursday with a ruptured hernia. He then had a major heart attack even before they operated. I've just been speaking with his mother who is obviously very worried. He is at this time 2.00am on Saturday, very critical, so please offer your loving prayers for Maurice. I too am such a hugh BeeGees fan and am so shocked at what has happened to Maurice. My prayers and thoughts are with you, Maurice, as well as Yvonne and your children. Barry and Robin, be strong and keep faith that God will pull Maurice through this. I pray for the whole family. I hope this makes it to the List. All I can ask is that, fans worldwide hold in their mind an image of Maurice - glowing with health - NOT ill. Picture him doing what he does best, giving us pleasure through his music. If enough people can sustain this loving image over the next few days, Maurice will pull through. Please pass this on to any fans you have on your address book. Subject: Cause of Mo's illness I was talking to my dad who is an MD and he agrees that hospitals do not really release the celebrety's actual condition. Knowing that Maurice smokes points to cancer. The surgery to remove some of the intestines could be to remove a cancerous portion. If he had a "heart attack" as some say, that could be, again, from smoking. At the AGMF in '99 one could tell he smoked a lot just by the smell of cigarrette. I do hope it is not cancer, and hope for something more benign. Too sad http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/music/2648273.stm Bee Gees singer 'not improving' The condition of Bee Gees star Maurice Gibb is giving doctors serious cause for concern. He had been responding well to treatment in a Miami hospital after suffering a heart attack during emergency surgery. He had opened his eyes and squeezed the hands of his daughter, who has been keeping a bedside vigil with his wife Yvonne. But later on Saturday the encouraging signs disappeared, and family members have been informed of the severity of Gibb's condition. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 11 Jan 2003 15:52:26 EST From: PROPASSMAX@cs.com Subject: Re: Maurice/Bernie Quayle All my love and hope goes out to maurice, and his lovely family. While we all would like more facts, the lack of them should not be the impetus for engaging in idle speculation, IMHO. While everything you suggest might or might not be true, at this stage there is no basis for going down this irresponsible path.
