What exacrtly was the point of drilling = holes in LPs back in the old days? I know it means that they are a = deleted title but I never get the REASON behind defacing the LPs. I know that there are some which have corners cut...some have small = nicks out of the spine and some holes through the sleeves........... Do = they all mean the same thing and what was the reason?? Because in those days, retailers could return unsold records for credit. The deleted ones were sold very cheap, and they had to be permanently marked as such, to prevent retailers from trying to return them for full credit. I'm sure some tried!
