He had agreed to meet us on my friend's 40th birthday. So when we met up with him we joked about ages (she is such a young thing at 40), time going by, celebrating birthdays (or not) - that kind of stuff. We all laughed a lot as all the rest of us hadn't seen 40 for a long time. We talked about past visits to the studio and how we missed it. I didn't quiz him about anything like the Country Music Awards, or when his next song would be released because I didn't want to put him on the spot. He was gracious enough to meet with us, and we wanted him to be comfortable and enjoy the visit - we certainly did. He chatted with us for about 15 minutes and then we went our separate ways. He was going to pick up Ali and we were going to Bubba Gumps for shrimp, drinks and ice cream strawberry short cake - what a day!!!! Honesty, I think he enjoyed the visit as much as we did. However, I don't think racism should have any place on this list. Glad to hear you had such a great time chatting with Barry, Bev. Sounds like one of those wonderful memories that will stay with you for years to come.
